<p>We’re discussing <a href="http://www.booksense.com/product/info.jsp?affiliateId=PlannedObsolescence&isbn=0380788624">Cryptonomicon</a> right now in the <a href="http://sax.pomona.edu/weblogs/LM">Big Novel</a> class,<sup class="footnote-ref"><a href="#fn1" id="fnref1">[1]</a></sup> and so information security is at the top of many of our minds. Imagine my amusement, then, when one of my students forwarded me this <a href="http://www.enterpriseitplanet.com/security/news/article.php/3342871">Enterprise IT Planet</a> story:</p>
