<p>I’m in the midst of wrapping up a few last items in the office before heading home for the holidays. It’s a slightly odd feeling; this is the first time in almost 20 years that I’m operating on a calendar other than the academic one, meaning that my holidays are for the first time in ages literally the holidays: I’m working from home tomorrow, and the office will be closed on Monday. And then I’ll be back in here on Tuesday.</p>
|
||
<p>The last couple of days have been pretty pleasant, however; the flow of email has slowed enormously, and I’ve finally been able to sit still and get some organizing done.</p>
|
||
<p>Which is not to say that I’ve been as productive as I ought to have been; I’ve got a big pile of writing that must get done in the next two weeks. So I’ll be spending this long weekend — and the long New Year’s weekend as well — holed up in front of my computer, thinking the big thoughts.</p>
|
||
<p>I’m going to start, however, with an unexpected evening on my terrace, taking advantage of the utterly unseasonable temperatures out there.</p>
|
||
<p>It’s an odd holiday season this year, but it’s got its benefits. All the best of them to you and yours.</p>
