<p>I finished yesterday. Filed the grades and everything. Summer began today.</p>
|
||
<p>I’m leaving aside the part where it began with jackhammers outside my bedroom window at 7.30 am, a fact about which I wish I were kidding. Instead, I’m going to say that summer began with my finally finishing up the <a href="/must-write-again/">article</a> whose deadline I managed to blow by over four full months.</p>
|
||
<p>It has been sent out. And I am free like a bird.</p>
|
||
<p>Once I write the program’s end-of-year report, which I’ll knock out tomorrow. After that, there’s three blissful months ahead of me thinking about absolutely nothing other than what I want to think about.</p>
|
||
<p>And the fun part will be getting to spend time figuring out what it is that I want to think about.</p>
|
||
<p>I may have gotten tenure eighteen months ago, but the <a href="/aw-shucks/">kicking of total ass</a> has at last officially commenced.</p>
