My [satellite TV provider](http://www.dishnetwork.com/) has [dropped](http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,3973,1545206,00.asp?kc=ETRSS02129TX1K0000532) a slew of channels from its offerings overnight, due to a contract dispute with Viacom.
The channels? No biggie: BET, Comedy Central, MTV, MTV2, MTV Espanol, Nickelodeon, Nick Games & Sports, Noggin, VH1, VH1 Classic and CBS.
The good news, of course, is that my provider is, as always, looking out for [my best interests](http://www.dishnetwork.com/content/programming/updates/index.shtml). And in compensation for this loss of service, they’ll be refunding me a shiny new dollar each month!
Time, I think, to do a little service-shopping.
