Wrapping up Madeleine Shaw's *The Greater Good* today, a fantastic book that provides a wealth of practical advice for anyone who wants to create a project, an organization, or a company that has as its goal transforming the world. Near the end she describes
> a deep conviction of mine that to truly succeed as social entrepreneurs, we need to consider the integrity of our leadership practice as much as that of our product or service. (199)
I all but jumped out of my chair at this line, for its bold truth. Your enterprise -- project, organization, company -- can promise all possible forms of external good, can be dedicated to the highest possible outcomes for its publics -- but if it fails to treat its employees with dignity and care, can it possibly be a force for good in the world?
I'm looking at you, academia.
