Todays prompt:
> Action. When it comes to aspirations, its not about ideas. Its about making ideas happen. Whats your next step?
This sense of moving from idea to action is very much whats behind the “release early and often” ethos of many digital humanities projects, and especially those being developed by my friends at the [Center for History and New Media](http://chnm.gmu.edu/). Its an agility to which I very much aspire.
However, as my friends would no doubt be the first to admit, that kind of agility requires a couple of things: time, in the sense of labor-hours, and money, to fund that labor. And both of those are in extremely short supply, in my universe, at least.
So my ideas for [MediaCommons](http://mediacommons.futureofthebook.org) have taken far longer to get off the ground than I might like, but this sabbatical has really allowed me to push forward with several key projects for the network. Were gaining momentum, which I find absolutely thrilling. As more people get involved with the project, and as its development branches in several different directions, Im watching as more and more ideas turn into action.
The next step might come as soon as tomorrow. Watch this space.
